Baseball betting in Morocco: the MLB line, markets and settlement rules
Baseball is played between two teams of nine players each. Under the Official Baseball Rules, the code MLB plays by, a regulation game runs nine innings, each split into two halves: the visiting side bats in the top half, the home side in the bottom half. A game level after nine completed innings carries on into extra innings until the visitors lead at the close of a full inning, or until the home side brings home the deciding run; in the regular season and the postseason alike, an MLB game therefore has no draw.
One league in the line: the MLB season, the postseason and the World Series
The baseball section is seasonal and built around MLB, the North American league. Its games sit in a single standing group labelled "USA. MLB", where MLB games listed for pre-match betting appear; between the end of one season and the start of the next, the group can stay empty. The 2027 regular season is slated to open on Wednesday 24 March 2027 with a single Opening Night game; traditional Opening Day, Thursday 25 March, is the earliest in the league's history, and the final day is scheduled for Sunday 26 September 2027.
For the 2026 season the postseason takes 12 teams, six from each league: three division winners plus three Wild Card qualifiers. In each league the two top seeds are exempt from the opening round. The Wild Card Series is decided over three games at most, the Division Series over five at most in a 2-2-1 pattern with home advantage to the higher seed, and the League Championship Series and the World Series go to the first team with four wins. The 2026 World Series is scheduled from 23 to 31 October.
Nine innings or more: how MLB, NPB, KBO and CPBL handle a tie

In the MLB regular season, every half-inning after the ninth starts with a runner on second base: the player in the batting order immediately before that half-inning's leadoff hitter. Introduced in 2020 and made permanent before the 2023 season, the rule does not apply to the Wild Card Series, Division Series, League Championship Series or World Series.
Other professional leagues cap the length of a game. In Japan's NPB, play stops after the twelfth inning and a game still level is recorded as a draw that counts neither as a win nor as a loss in the standings. In South Korea's KBO, a regular-season game has been called a tie after 11 innings since 2025, and after 15 innings in the postseason. Taiwan's CPBL also ends a regular-season game tied after 12 innings. A winter calendar runs alongside: from October to January, leagues in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela and Australia play their seasons. The World Baseball Classic (WBC), the tournament for national teams, held its 2026 edition from 5 to 17 March; Venezuela beat the United States 3-2 in the final in Miami to win its first title.
Reading a baseball market: W1, W2, Total and Handicap
"1X2". On a baseball game page this group holds two outcomes only, W1 and W2; there is no X, since an MLB game is played to a winner. US commentators call it the moneyline.
"Total". Over or Under on the combined runs of both teams, with lines such as 5.5 and 6.5 or whole numbers like 6 and 7.
"Handicap". A run start for one side, for instance 1 (-1.5) against 2 (+1.5): the run line in US terms.
"Total 1" and "Total 2". Over or Under on the runs of one team alone.
During a live game the page shows the current inning, a line score and each team's hits, and the same market groups are offered with live lines.
Rain, postponements and listed pitchers: section 10.6 of the betting rules
The site's betting rules give baseball a section of its own, 10.6 "Baseball, Softball". What it settles:
Situation | How the bet is settled under section 10.6 |
|---|---|
Game goes to extra innings | Accepted with extra innings counted; every market is settled on the official result, extra innings included, apart from bets on parts of the game (items 1 and 4) |
Starting pitchers named in the event | Each named pitcher has to start and deliver at least one pitch; should either of them not take the mound, all wagers on that game are voided. With no pitchers listed, bets stand whoever starts (item 1) |
Game shortened by tournament regulations or by an unassailable lead | Bets stand (item 2) |
Game stopped early | Once 4.5 innings, or five complete innings, are in the books, all bets stand. Short of that, markets already decided at the stoppage are settled and the rest are settled at odds of 1 (item 5) |
Pre-match: game postponed | If the first pitch is not thrown at the scheduled time and the postponement is confirmed on the official website, all wagers go to odds of 1 (item 6) |
Live: game interrupted | If play resumes within 72 hours, bets stand until the game ends; otherwise they are void, apart from markets already decided (item 7) |
Tied final score | Possible in NPB and in MLB or KBO preseason games: W1 and W2 both go to odds of 1 and the stakes come back (item 8) |
Read together with the market labels, section 10.6 means a Total 6.5 is won by Over with seven runs or more and by Under with six or fewer, extra innings included. A whole-number line that lands exactly, seven runs on a Total 7, is settled at odds of 1 for both Over and Under under the general rules.
Pre-match and live baseball from Morocco
The markets above belong to the pre-match line, where baseball stands among all sports open to betting before the first pitch. No Moroccan competition is listed in the section, so baseball here means MLB. Once a game is under way, its markets belong to the live baseball section. Accounts of players in Morocco are held in Moroccan dirhams (MAD).

Baseball rules, answered
How many national teams took part in the 2026 World Baseball Classic, and where was it played?
Twenty. Pool play was held in Miami, Houston, San Juan and Tokyo; two quarter-finals were played in Houston and the remaining knockout games in Miami.
Why can an MLB game finish after eight and a half innings?
Because the Official Baseball Rules shorten a regulation game when the home team needs none of its half of the ninth inning, or only part of it. If the home side is ahead once the visitors have made three outs in the top of the ninth, it has won and does not come to bat.
On what grounds can an MLB game be postponed or called?
Rule 7.01(c) lets the umpire-in-chief or the Office of the Commissioner postpone or call a game for weather, field or ballpark conditions, darkness, a curfew, or a loss of electricity or lighting, among the circumstances it lists.
