When totals are level, the event applies its stated playoff — several aggregate holes or sudden death. Match play works on a different logic entirely: fewer strokes wins the hole, the match ends once the lead is bigger than the number of holes left, and a tied knockout match simply carries on hole by hole.

The headline events are the Masters Tournament, the PGA Championship, the U.S. Open and The Open Championship, with the Ryder Cup adding a team dimension. The deepest talent pools have historically come from the United States, Scotland, England, South Africa and Australia.
Across North Africa, golf remains a low-popularity sport, and pretending otherwise would be misleading. Morocco is the clear exception: the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation supports an established structure, the Hassan II Trophy has run since 1971 and the Lalla Meryem Cup since 1993, both staged in Rabat, while Maha Haddioui has played on the Ladies European Tour.
