Volleyball before the match: Morocco, women's leagues and how sets work
In volleyball, two teams face each other across a net stretched over the middle of the court. The FIVB rulebook in force from 2025 to 2028 sets the aim: put the ball down in the opposing half by sending it back over the net, and stop the other team from doing likewise. Six players per team are on court, and a team may use three hits to return the ball, a block touch being left out of the count. Whoever wins a rally scores a point; a receiving team that takes one also wins back the serve, its players moving round one position clockwise.
Morocco's volleyball year: an African semi-final, FUS Rabat and the CAVB presidency
Morocco's men made the last four of the CAVB's 2026 African Nations Championship, which brought 13 teams to Tunis in September 2026. There they lost the semi-final 1-3 to the hosts and eventual champions, Tunisia, and then the bronze-medal match 0-3 to Algeria.
The 2025-26 Throne Cup went to FUS Rabat (Fath Union Sport) twice over, in the men's event and in the women's. At the African club championship for men, staged in Kigali in 2026, the club went out in the quarter-finals to Al Ahly, who then completed the event unbeaten for a 17th African title. The men's 2024-25 Division Excellence title went to Ittihad Riadi de Tanger (IRT), the fifth in the club's history, won 3-2 against FUS in the last game of the play-offs; AS FAR took the women's title that season.
Bouchra Hajij heads the Royal Moroccan Volleyball Federation (FRMVB) and, since 2020, the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB), the first woman to lead it since its foundation in 1972.
In beach volleyball, a separate discipline with its own FIVB rules, the pair of Zouheir Elgraoui and Soufiane El Gharouti took the CAVB men's African title of 2026 in Alexandria, beating an Algerian pair in the final (21-19, 21-12); it was Morocco's fifth men's continental crown in a row. With it, Morocco's National Olympic Committee secured a men's beach volleyball place for the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
Women's leagues with pages of their own
Several women's competitions have dedicated pages in the volleyball line, each on its own calendar.
In the United States, women's college volleyball is an autumn competition: Division I play began at the end of August 2026, and a 64-team knockout tournament from 3 to 20 December decides the title, with the final in San Antonio's Alamodome. Texas A&M won the 2025 edition, the school's first title, sweeping Kentucky 3-0 in the final. The competition has its page in the line: women's volleyball at US universities (NCAA).
In Poland, the women's top flight, TAURON Liga Kobiet, takes 12 clubs through 22 regular-season rounds between 2 October 2026 and 14 March 2027. Title holders Budowlani Łódź got the season going with a 3-0 win on the court of promoted MKS Kalisz. TAURON Liga alone is now the men's league, called PlusLiga until 2025-26.

Scoring a volleyball match: sets, tie-break and no draw
FIVB rules give a set to the first team that reaches 25 points while leading by two or more; if the score gets to 24-24, the set goes on until one team opens a two-point gap, as in 26-24 or 27-25.
Three set wins take the match.
At two sets each, the tie-break, a fifth and deciding set, is played to 15, again with a two-point margin. IRT's title-deciding game against FUS in 2024-25 went that far and ended 15-13 in the tie-break.
That means three, four or five sets per match, a final score of 3-2, 3-1 or 3-0 in sets for one team or the other, and never a draw. Winner betting in the list comes down to W1 or W2, a draw not being on offer, and the group titled "1X2" on a match page lists only those two outcomes as well. Depending on the fixture, the list may also show a points handicap, a match total and individual totals IT1 and IT2; on the match page they sit in the Handicap, Total, Total 1 and Total 2 groups, with Over and Under options for totals.
Under the site's volleyball betting rules, handicap and total lines are quoted in points; only the handicap counted in sets and the number-of-sets total work differently. For the exact score in sets, the columns read 3:0, 3:1 and so on. A "yes" on extra points in a set is a winner when a set is won after 24:24, and a "yes" on the tie-break wins as soon as a fifth set takes place.
Betting while the rallies are played
On 1xBet, volleyball can be backed in advance through the Line and after the first serve through Live: a match that is under way moves to the live volleyball section. The site's rules also cover a race to a given number of points in a set (which team reaches 3, 5 or another figure first) and the length of the match: over or under the minutes offered, each set's duration, as logged in the official match record, counting towards the total.
